Why Achieving Stars Prioritizes Early Intervention

ABA therapy can be effective at many ages, but research consistently shows that starting earlier leads to stronger, faster outcomes. During the first five years of life, children learn new skills more easily and carry those skills into daily routines with less effort.

At Achieving Stars, early intervention means more than starting young. It means providing consistent, structured therapy that adapts as your child grows. Most programs follow Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI) guidelines, which typically involve 20 to 40 hours per week of individualized support depending on need.

Families often see progress in:

  • Communication and expressive language
  • Social engagement and play
  • Independence with daily routines
  • Emotional regulation and reduced frustration
  • Readiness for preschool and kindergarten

Delays in starting services can slow momentum. That is why Achieving Stars is structured around immediate access rather than waitlists.

A Clinician-Led Model Built Around Your Child

Achieving Stars Therapy is clinician led. This is one of our core priorities and what sets our care apart.

Every child’s treatment plan is designed and overseen by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Plans are not copied from templates or standardized across clients. They are built around your child’s strengths, needs, environment, and family goals.

BCBAs at Achieving Stars aim to meet with caregivers weekly or at least every other week through parent guidance sessions. These sessions ensure families understand progress, ask questions, and learn strategies to support growth outside of therapy hours.

Therapy is delivered in your child’s natural environment, at home or in school, because that is where learning sticks and progress shows up most clearly.

Progress is tracked during every session using objective data. Treatment plans are adjusted based on results, not guesswork.

Transparency, Progress Data, and Session Notes

Families deserve visibility into their child’s care.

In addition to regular progress updates during parent guidance sessions, caregivers may ask questions at any time. Every therapy session is documented, and session notes are added to the client’s account.

Upon request, caregivers are given full access to view session notes so they can stay informed and engaged throughout the process.

Cost, Insurance, and Medicaid Coverage

In most cases, insurance covers the majority of services. Depending on your plan, there may be deductibles or copays. Some families qualify for Medicaid as a primary or secondary insurance, which can cover 100 percent of ABA therapy costs, resulting in no out-of-pocket expense.

Achieving Stars works with most major insurance providers and handles benefits verification and authorization on your behalf so there are no surprises.

How Quickly Services Start With Achieving Stars

Speed matters, and our model is built around it.

Once the intake packet is completed, our authorization team submits requests to insurance promptly. Insurance authorization typically takes anywhere from one day to two weeks, depending on the plan.

As soon as services are authorized, therapy begins immediately. Achieving Stars does not operate with a waitlist, so families are not left waiting once approval is received.Speed matters, and our model is built around it.

What the Onboarding Process Looks Like

Getting started is straightforward and guided at every step.Speed matters, and our model is built around it.

First, our intake team reaches out to answer questions and send the intake packet. This includes requests for documentation such as your child’s diagnosis and insurance information.

Once received, our authorization team submits for approval of the initial assessment. After authorization, you are introduced to your child’s BCBA, who completes the initial assessment using tools selected based on your child’s age and needs.

The BCBA then creates a personalized treatment plan and reviews it with you before submitting it to insurance for approval to begin direct services.

Support for Children With Dual or Complex Diagnoses

Many children served by Achieving Stars have more than one diagnosis.

This is common and expected.

Our team regularly supports children with:

Autism Spectrum Disorder
Autism and ADHD
Autism and Down syndrome
Developmental delays with challenging behaviors

Programs are built individually, adjusting strategies to fit each child rather than forcing a single approach. Care plans evolve as children grow, always grounded in family life and daily routines.

Parent Guidance as a Core Priority

Parent guidance is not a one-time onboarding step. It is an ongoing part of therapy once sessions begin.Because caregivers are with their children every day, long-term progress depends on shared understanding and consistent strategies. Weekly or biweekly guidance sessions help caregivers learn how to interact with and respond to behaviors in ways that support development outside of therapy hours.

Take the First Step Toward Independence

Potty training doesn’t have to be overwhelming. With gentle, in-home ABA therapy, your child can gain independence and your family can enjoy calmer routines.
