Does Insurance Cover Early Intervention ABA in Ohio?
Yes. Ohio Revised Code 3923.84, the Ohio autism insurance law, requires state-regulated insurance plans to cover autism screening, diagnosis, and treatment, including ABA, and the updated law took effect on March 20, 2025. Plans can ask for prior authorization, and the treatment order has to come from a psychologist trained in autism, a developmental pediatrician, or a specialized nurse practitioner.
