OUR APPROACH

What Do In-Home ABA Therapy Services Include?

In-Home Sessions, 8am to 8pm

A therapist comes to your home anywhere in Council Bluffs and Pottawattamie County.

A BCBA-Led Team

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) writes an evidence-based, individualized treatment plan built on positive reinforcement. A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) runs each session.

Toddlers and Preschool-Aged Children, 18 Months to 5 Years

Play-based sessions build communication skills, play and daily-living skills for this age range.

Children 6 to 15

Skill development for school-age children: social skills, emotional regulation, challenging behaviors and self-advocacy.

Parent Training

Parents and caregivers learn the therapist's strategies, so progress continues between sessions.

Does Iowa Medicaid or Insurance Cover ABA Therapy?

Yes, with an autism diagnosis. Iowa Medicaid covers ABA through age 20, and Achieving Stars Therapy takes all three plans: Iowa Total Care, Molina and Wellpoint (formerly Amerigroup).

For large-employer plans renewed from January 1, 2026, Iowa law dropped the age-19 limit and dollar caps on ABA. Check your insurance coverage free at (833) 666-3115.

Where Can Council Bluffs Families Get an Autism Diagnosis?

Achieving Stars Therapy does not diagnose autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The University of Iowa Center for Disabilities and Development in Iowa City (319-353-6900) evaluates children from 18 months until their 12th birthday.

Across the river, Children's Nebraska runs an Autism Diagnostic Clinic in Omaha (402-955-6570) with a referral from your child's provider; ask whether it takes your Iowa plan.
